Vakoun Bayo put an end to his Celtic nightmare during the summer transfer window when he swapped Scotland for France.

The Ivorian joined Ligue 2 outfit, Toulouse, on a season-long loan deal departing the Hoops after 18 months.

He never really earned himself a proper chance at Parkhead, making just 17 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.

Last night he earned some praise from Celtic supporters on Twitter after scoring a superb header against AC Ajaccio.

It was Bayo’s sixth goal since arriving at the club and he appears to be settling just nicely.

Celtic have endured a torrid campaign and currently trail Rangers by 18 points at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Neil Lennon is facing a fight to cling to his job, with a change almost certain to take place during the summer.

Celtic look to have failed in their quest to secure a tenth title in succession with Steven Gerrard set to lay his hands on the trophy.

Bayo’s contract was worth £7,500-a-week at Celtic and offloading him did look like the right thing to do.

After his goal last night though, some Hoops fans have leapt to his defence, stating that perhaps he deserved more game time under Lennon.

Here is what the fan base were saying about Bayo’s goal.
