Celtic fans had mixed feelings after Tom Rogic produced a moment of magic to score a winner for Australia.

In the Asia Cup, Australia faced Syria in the final Group B match. Before the game, Australia were on three points and Syria had one point, meaning the winner progressed to the knock-out round.

The Socceroos only needed a draw and took the lead just before half-time. But Syria hit back immediately, ensuring the scores were level at the interval.

Australia restored their lead on 54 minutes but a Syria penalty in the 80th minute set up an interesting final 10 minutes.

But as Syria chased a late winner, Australia pulled away thanks to a moment of brilliance from Rogic.

The 26-year-old scored a thumping left-footed drive from outside the box to confirm Australia’s place in the knock-out stages.

Celtic fans were unsure what to think. On one hand, their fan favourite had impressed them yet again and they were proud of his goal.

On the other hand, the Bhoys will be without Rogic for longer after he helped Australia progress to the next round. Here are some opinions about Rogic’s goal.
