Aberdeen wanted £10m for Scott McKenna.

Celtic fans looked back at summer links with Scott McKenna after he struggled on Sunday.

Aberdeen defender McKenna was part of a defence that shipped four first-half goals in the 4-0 Celtic win at Pittodrie. Celtic fans looking back were relieved that they missed out on this deal.

McKenna wanted to leave Aberdeen in the summer with talk of a move to Celtic or the Championship. The Scotland international failed to complete a move despite handing in a transfer request.

Aberdeen were desperate to keep McKenna and they turned down a £5m bid from Celtic, according to The Scottish Sun. The Dons wanted £10m for McKenna, as per this report.

Lots of Celtic fans felt that this price tag was too high in the summer. And the decision to steer away from McKenna looks justified now. McKenna has struggled with his form recently and the Celtic clash was no exception.
