Scott Sinclair could reportedly join English Championship side Middlesbrough for a bargain £2million fee this summer – and Celtic fans have waved the winger goodbye.
The Sun claim Middlesbrough want to land the 30-year-old winger this summer, as they look for reinforcements. It remains to be seen if Boro will achieve a place in the play-offs, or have to see out another year in the Championship.
Sinclair has failed to replicate his form from 2016-17 in the past two seasons, when he won Player of the Season and scored a whopping 25 goals in 50 league and cup outings.
But his stats are still very strong. Last season, he scored 18 and created 17, and this season he has scored 17 goals and laid on another six assists. 60 goals and 34 assists in 156 appearances is a very, very impressive record.
Celtic have options out wide, with Maryan Shved returning from his loan and Daniel Arzani set to return from an anterior cruciate ligament problem. But Timo Weah and Oliver Burke are only on loan, and look set to leave.
Hoops fans took to Twitter in reaction to the rumours that Sinclair could be on his way to Teesside, and many believe it is the right decision to offload the former Manchester City star at the end of the season.
Celtic should take the money and run, we have seen the best of Sinclair unfortunately. He will be on a few quid as well.

A year left on his deal it makes sense we'd look to get some sort of return for him and I doubt he is on small wages.
Shved is coming but not sure he plays on the left? Mikey Johnston not ready for that kind of consistency.
Potential Timo Weah return? Big hopes for Arzani?

He performance level has been really poor for a while. Aside from Aberdeen x2 this season, have his goals been match defining & won us points? Don’t have details myself but sense he’s become a score 3rd in a 3-0 win v Dundee type of player. No offence to him/them. Would sell.

He has no confidence and he’s lost a fair bit of pace. Against killie he got the balk several times in the second half and he looked like he wanted to be tackled as had no idea what to do. Should sell him if we get the chance, great player and great record but a shadow the past

Sell sell sell. He's like a man down most days, confidence shot, looks like he's starting to slow down a bit as well.
