Premier League side Brighton are reportedly awaiting a green light from Celtic to take teenage goalkeeper Vincent Angelini on trial, with the youngster sai to have rejected the offer of a new contract at Parkhead – and fans have responded on social media.
Angelini, 17, has caught the eye at Celtic during his time in the club’s academy – so much so that interest has emerged in the Glasgow born stopper from down south, and across Europe. Lazio, Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus have been linked.
But the south coast of England could become his new home. That is because the Daily Record claim Brighton are keen to take him on trial – after he rejected the offer of a new deal at Parkhead. His current contract expires at the end of the season.
Brighton are interested, but would rather take the goalkeeper on trial initially before deciding whether to pay the compensation fee that would be required to make him a Seagulls player. That exact detail of that figure is unknown.
Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Angelini – one of the club’s brightest young talents – could be on his way to Brighton and many are understandably frustrated, urging the club to do more to keep the young stopper.
