Stoke City defender Moritz Bauer has joined Celtic on loan. Celtic have announced Bauer as their latest new arrival to boost the right-back position. The Bhoys also have an option to sign him permanently at the end of his season-long loan.
Bauer was out of favour with Championship side Stoke and has moved to Scotland. The 27-year-old has not featured this season and only managed 11 appearances last season (eight in the league).

In total, he has played 26 times for Stoke since his January 2018 move from Rubin Kazan, suffering relegation with the Potters just a few months after joining. The 5-cap Austria international has also played in Russia (with Rubin Kazan) and in Austria (Grasshoppers).
Bauer is ready for the title hunt this season. He told the club’s official website: “I love being here and having the target of being first as I like that pressure. There are players here who have already won titles, and it’s a big opportunity for me to learn from them and grow as a player as I hope to be part of a successful team.”
But Celtic fans have mixed feelings about his arrival, even though a new right-back was needed. Here are some tweets about Bauer’s transfer.
