Maryan Shved has won the Player of the Month award for March after starring for loan side Karpaty Lviv – and Celtic fans have applauded the winger on Twitter.

Shved, 21, joined Celtic for £1.75million (Scottish Sun) in the January transfer window but was immediately loaned back to the Ukranian side. He has been in emphatic form this season.

Indeed, the one-time Ukraine international has scored 11 goals in 20 appearances for Karpaty – and that goalscoring form alerted Celtic to his presence back in the January transfer window.

Shved is set to return to Parkhead at the end of the season, and become available for 2019-20. Celtic posted on Twitter, congratulating the youngster on his award as he continues to shine in his home country.

Celtic have plenty of options out wide already, but that is set to change come the summer. Timo Weah and Oliver Burke are only on loan, while Scott Sinclair’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Daniel Arzani is still on loan from Manchester City but is overcoming an anterior cruciate ligament injury, while Jonny Hayes has hardly proved to be the signing many had hoped.

Celtic fans reacted to the news that Shved had won the Player of the Month award for March, and some fans are excited to see him green and white. One fan wants to see that now, Tweeting: “Bring him home.”
