Celtic confirmed on Saturday that attacker Marian Shved has completed a move away on loan – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded with disappointment to his exit.

The Bhoys confirmed on their official website that the 23-year-old winger has joined Belgian club KV Mechelen on a season-long loan for the upcoming campaign

He made just three appearances across all competitions during the 2019/20 season and scored one goal, but was limited of opportunities.

The Ukrainian previously scored 23 goals in 55 appearances for Karpaty Lviv, but has been unable to make a breakthrough under manager Neil Lennon and has now departed in search of first-team minutes.

Scottish giants Celtic are going in pursuit of a 10th consecutive league title this season and feel they have enough options in wide areas with players such as Mohamed Elyounoussi and James Forrest.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media have responded to the news by claiming Shved is a “talented” individual and feel he’s yet to really get a chance to show that.

The skilful winger now has the opportunity to develop in the Belgian top-flight and there are high hopes that he can return much improved.
