Leicester City have confirmed that Lee Congerton has been appointed as the club’s new head of recruitment. The Foxes confirmed the news themselves, sending out this tweet yesterday. He has left the same role at Celtic, which he held since March 2017.
Of course, it is not the first time Celtic have seen a senior staff member leave for the King Power.
However, it is fair to say that fans at Celtic have taken to this news better than that of Brendan Rodgers move to Leicester.
Congerton was hardly a popular figure at Celtic over the past few months.

Whilst he may be credited with the arrival of Olivier Ntcham and, Odsonne Edouard, other pieces of business have been far less well received.
One that stands out particularly is that of Marvin Compper, whilst Jack Hendry and Charly Musonda also spring to mind. An inability to bring in full-back cover has also been something of a frustration Celtic fans have had with the recruitment chief.
Celtic will be glad to see the back of Congerton and will hope a better option arrives at the club to work with whoever is appointed full-time manager at Parkhead.
