Celtic fans react as Jack Aitchison scores winner on Forest Green debut

The Celtic youngster scored just 12 minutes after coming off the bench for the League Two side.

Celtic striker Jack Aitchison has had a dream start to his loan spell in England, after scoring on debut for Forest Green Rovers.

The 19-year-old helped the League Two side win 1-0 at Cambridge United yesterday afternoon. He scored just 12 minutes after coming on from the bench as the Green Army continued their positive start to the new season.

The youngster received a pass from Joseph Mills on the edge of the box before cutting inside a Cambridge defender and firing a ferocious right-foot strike in off the goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov’s near-post.

Celtic fans are of course used to seeing the youngster score on debuts. He netted for Celtic at the age of 16 in a 7-0 win over Motherwell back in May 2016 with his first touch in professional football.

The Scotland under-19 talent had a difficult season last term, with loan spells at both Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic so getting off to a good start at The New Lawn will undoubtedly have Celtic fans excited about Aitchison’s latest spell.

Indeed, plenty of Celtic fans have reacted with joy to the news that Aitchison is already off the mark in Nailsworth…
