A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to respond after the club confirmed on their official website that the Hoops sold Jack Aitchison to Barnsley on deadline day.
There is no question that Bhoys fans were waiting for one announcement more than any other on Monday. But, while Diego Laxalt’s arrival seemed to be a fantastic way to round off the window, it was not the only deal Celtic completed at the start of the week.
The club have confirmed on their official website that Aitchison has left Parkhead permanently. The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Oakwell.
Interestingly, Barnsley noted in their own announcement that the youngster is set to leave immediately to join a League Two side on loan.
Nevertheless, it appears that plenty of Celtic supporters are not happy to see Aitchison leave. They believe that he has a lot of potential, and they fear that the club will go on to regret letting him go.
It should be noted that there are some fans who believe that the time is right to let the forward leave. It has been some time since Aitchison played for the Hoops, and some are not sure that he was going to realise his full potential.
However, plenty feel that it is a mistake from the Bhoys to sell him this summer.
Some have expressed their hope that Celtic have agreed a clause that would allow them to bring him back in the future.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to the announcement…
Don’t agree with this one, boys a player. Best of luck

Buy back clause? If not seems like awful bit of business.

Good luck 🤞🏻 I hope we have a clause in deal to get back for a small fee as he’s definitely a decent player. All the best @JackAitchison7 I’m sure you’ll do well 🙏🏻🤞🏻💚

Never given a chance and we have brought in some garbage and played them before him. All the best to the young lad, go prove Celtic wrong.

Bad bit of business letting this boy go. He’s going to be some striker in a few years

Can see us regretting this 1 in a few years.
