Celtic defender Hatem Abd Elhamed could miss tonight’s vital game. Celtic host AIK in first leg of the Europa League qualifying play-off and they could be without some key players.
Elhamed might not be deemed fit enough to play tonight. Neil Lennon confirmed this in his pre-match press conference, as reported by the Celtic Twitter page. This leaves Celtic with a selection dilemma.
If the Israel international cannot play, there are few options to cover at right-back. Kristoffer Ajer recently did it in the league match against Motherwell but his best position is in central defence.
And Celtic are also short at left-back. Lennon did not use Boli Bolingoli last week as they crashed out of the Champions League. Callum McGregor – naturally a midfielder – was used there instead.
The Bhoys need to qualify for the Europa League after missing out on the Champions League. But Elhamed’s injury has affected their chances of keeping a clean sheet against AIK. Celtic fans are now questioning the recruitment policy and here are some of the best tweets.
So that’s Ajer to RB then, big man should be at the heart of the defence, scandal that we don’t have cover yet at RB considering it was known for months that both Lustig and Gamboa were leaving

Does this mean McGregor will play right back?

Our injury list over the last few seasons has been horrendous! What do we do in training that’s so different from other clubs?
