Celtic fans react as Gheorghe Hagi is linked with manager job

Neil Lennon has been the subject of much conjecture regarding his future at Celtic in recent weeks.

The Bhoys have had a difficult season and fell further behind Rangers in the battle for the title with a 1-0 loss at Ibrox this week.

Lennon, whose side were dumped out of the Europa League unceremoniously once again this season, has seen large parts of the Celtic fanbase turn against him.

Now, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive regarding potential replacements.

One such rumour is surely not a possibility.

It is claimed by Romanian source Playsport that legendary footballer Gheorghe Hagi is being lined up for the Celtic job.

Of course, that is Gheorghe Hagi, father of Rangers playmaker Ianis and recent commenter on all things good at Ibrox.

He is said to have been in Scotland for the last month visiting his son. However, that is apparently not the only reason for his stay. The report claims he has spoken to Celtic about potentially taking over from Lennon should Celtic give their current boss the heave-ho.

Hagi, who stepped down as manager of Viitorul, a club he owns, in August has a sketchy record as a club manager.

Celtic fans certainly don’t feel he is the man to take over from Lennon should Celtic decide for a change.

The links to a prominent Rangers player certainly do not help matters.
