Real Madrid continued their march toward a La Liga title this weekend with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Deportivo Alaves at the Bernabeu.
It was a tough game for Real, with Alaves putting in a plucky display that very nearly saw them snatch something from the game.
One player who impressed throughout the fixture certainly came as a shock to Celtic fans.
Oliver Burke, on loan at the Spanish club from West Brom, put in a stellar display, particularly in the first-half, as he gave the Real Madrid defence plenty to think about.
The Scotland international’s raw pace and power saw Eder Militao chasing shadows at times and fans of Celtic were certainly left shocked.
During his time at Parkhead the young forward never truly found his best form.
There were flashes of his physical prowess but, technically, he struggled to fulfill the needs of a Celtic striker.
That’s why Neil Lennon eventually phased him out of the Celtic first-team and no attempt was made to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2019.
So there was plenty of reaction from Celtic fans to seeing the 23-year-old catching the eye against one of the world’s premier football teams.
However, with his end product again lacking, not many Celtic fans were wishing the club had kept him on board.

Oliver Burke was absolutely awful at Celtic yet now I am watching him cause Real Madrid problems.
Shows how underwhelming Real Madrid is these days.

He’s quick but other than that he’s pish, at Celtic every second touch he took was a tackle

Oliver Burke is currently giving Militao nightmares. £42m defender though.

Reece and I told you so many times but you never listened. Sir Oliver Burke is, in fact, the greatest!
