Celtic have reportedly made an offer to lure Parkhead favourite Patrick Roberts back to Glasgow ahead of the summer window, but said bid has been rebuffed by Manchester City for the time being – and Celtic fans are excited on Twitter.
Roberts, 23, initially joined Celtic on loan in January 2016 and remained with the Scottish champions for two and a half seasons. He helped them win three Scottish Premierships, two League Cups and two Scottish Cups.
The England Under-20 international became a favourite among the Parkhead regulars, scoring 18 goals in 78 appearances for Celtic – but perhaps more impressively laying on an enormous 26 assists, an average of one every three games.

Since playing his last game for Celtic in 2018, Roberts has gone on loan to Spanish side Girona where he struggled – before a completely failure of a loan move to Norwich saw him manage just four appearances between August and January.
Such a loan was cancelled and Roberts dropped a division to join Jonathan Woodgate’s Middlesbrough – but certainly the winger is failing to meet early potential that saw him shine at Celtic, and convince City to pay Fulham £12million (TeamTalk).
TeamTalk claim Celtic have made an initial offer of £3million to land Roberts permanently and bring him north of the border, but that has been rejected by City – though it has been left on the table, and Celtic fans are excited.
