Celtic are reportedly looking to raid newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United this summer for right-back George Baldock – and Hoops fans have reacted excitedly on Twitter.
The Daily Mail claim the Scottish champions have opened negotiations with Chris Wilder’s side over a £3million move for the right-back, who starred in the Blades’ promotion from the Championship last season.
Baldock, 26, struggled to get into the side during the first half of the season but became one of the first names on the team sheet after the turn of the year. He played 27 times, and even laid on three assists.
Celtic are likely to be on the lookout for a new right-back, with Jeremy Toljan returning to Borussia Dortmund. Some reports have claimed that the Hoops have offered Mikael Lustig a two-year deal, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Right-back is a problem area for new manager Neil Lennon, then, with Anthony Ralston not yet worthy of becoming the club’s first-choice option. Celtic have been linked with others including Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne.
Celtic fans reacted to the news that their club were interested in former MK Dons star Baldock, and many are keen to bring him north of the border and see him help Celtic reach the illustrious 10 in a row.
Get him in

Considering the rediculous goals we have lost in Europe over the years, particularly down the right, this would be a good signing?
