Celtic fans react as club linked with La Liga striker

Celtic are reportedly after Alaves striker Patrick Twumasi this summer and could lodge an offer for the Ghana striker, after failing to land his signature last summer – and Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter.

Football Ghana claimed in an exclusive that Celtic want to sign the 25-year-old from La Liga side Alaves, after a disappointing first campaign in the top tier of Spanish football. He managed just 13 outings, failing to score once.

The report claims that Celtic came close to signing the three-time Ghana international last summer, after he scored twice against the Hoops for FC Astana. Instead, he joined Alaves.

But he is likely to be available again after Alaves brought in Lucas Perez for £2million from West Ham United, pushing the African speed machine down the pecking order.

Celtic have an abundance of strikers, but could still do with more fire power. Odsonne Edouard is easily their best option up front, with Leigh Griffiths, Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Mikey Johnston as options.

Celtic fans reacted to the news that their club could rival Danish side FC Copenhagen for Twumasi’s signature this summer, and the majority of supporters are desperate to see him sign as they remember his brace in 2017.
