Celtic have been linked with a move for Girona veteran Cristhian Stuani after the striker amassed another 19 goals in La Liga this season – and Hoops fans have reacted on Twitter.

Futbol Radio Formula have claimed that Celtic are interested in signing the 32-year-old, who found the back of the net 19 times in just 32 league appearances for the Spanish club – alongside Patrick Roberts.

However, Celtic are not alone in looking to sign 48-time Uruguay international. Barcelona are surprisingly keen, as they look for a striker to provide cover to international teammate Luis Suarez.

English Championship outfit Nottingham Forest are also keen, as are Mexican side Monterrey. It is believed an offer worth £6.2million is enough to land Stuani’s signature.

Stuani spent two years in the Championship with Middlesbrough, scoring 16 goals in 67 outings. But in Spain he has proved much more successful, finding the back of the net 82 times in 230 La Liga appearances.

Celtic fans reacted on Twitter to the news that their club could spend north of £6million on Stuani, with many doubting the reality that their club would part with such a fee given he turns 33 in October.

However, some Celtic fans are keen to see Stuani in green and white, given his excellent form.
