Celtic fans react as Ange Postecoglou has message for Hoops board, after 0-0 draw

Celtic fans reacted on Twitter after Ange Postecoglou had a message for Celtic’s board, with the club struggling in the transfer market. Celtic failed to make it three wins from three on Wednesday as they drew 0-0 with English side Bristol City. Many are concerned at the lack of numbers.

Coming into the match after 2-1 and 3-1 wins over Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday, Celtic fans were hopeful. Despite a lack of transfer activity at Celtic this summer so far, the Hoops have been churning out decent performances under Postecoglou. Then, Celtic signed Liel Abada.

The move, believed to be in the region of £3.4million, was agreed moments before Celtic took on Bristol City. While Celtic had numerous chances to beat Nigel Pearson’s side, they failed to convert. In fact, it was a pretty bad evening in terms of injuries – with Celtic picking up two in the first half.

Mikey Johnston, who spent so long on the touchline last season, hobbled off. He was then followed by youngster Karamoko Dembele just 11 minutes later on 36. A double blow, ahead of this month’s Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland. Postecoglou gave his verdict.

What has Postecoglou said, and what is the reaction from Celtic fans?

“Tonight was another challenge, for sure. We’re not great on numbers at the moment, so it’s a bit disappointing that we may have lost a couple tonight. But we’ll see how it all washes up and hopefully it’s not too bad,” Posteocoglou told Celtic TV following the 0-0 draw.

Celtic fans had sympathy for Postecoglou on Twitter. Fans are already worried at the lack of signings and it is showing on the pitch – despite the performance of David Turnbull, which gained plenty of praise. Many reacted to Postecoglou saying Celtic are short on numbers on Twitter.
