Celtic showed their class by cruising to a more-than-comfortable 4-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon – and Hoops fans have raved over new signing Jeremie Frimpong after a stunning performance from the youngster.
A trip to Pittodrie – just three days after beating Lazio in the Europa League – promised to be a tough clash for Neil Lennon’s side. With Rangers breathing down their neck on level points, a win for Celtic was crucial.
Odsonne Edouard scored his 11th goal of the season after striding past numerous Aberdeen players before lashing an effort past Joe Lewis into the bottom corner. Edouard then turned provider, laying on a low cross for Frimpong to score.
Frimpong, 18, was signed from Manchester City in the summer and can either play right-back or on the left side of the defence. He burst forward from right-back – in what was just his third Celtic outing – before converting Edouard’s pass.

James Forrest made it three with a superb finish after an excellent team goal from Celtic that tore Aberdeen’s defence to shreds, while Forrest then laid on an assist for Mohamed Elyounoussi, who continues his top form since joining from Southampton.
Celtic fans were delighted with the breakthrough impact of teenager Frimpong, who before his move to Celtic had never played a senior match – instead turning out 21 times for City’s reserves. Hoops supporters were delighted to see him score.
