Celtic finally secured their first win of Ange Postecoglou’s era with a 4-2 away victory over Czech Republic side Jablonec away from home. The Hoops took control of their third-round Europa League qualifying tie with a solid win. Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to praise James Forrest.

After a two-legged defeat to Danish side FC Midtjylland, Celtic suffered another loss – losing to Hearts in their opening league game, 2-1. In what promised to be their best chance of securing a win, Celtic took on Jablonec away from home. Postecoglou made chances, dropping Odsonne Edouard.

What have Celtic fans said about Forrest and his display?

It paid off. Two new signings Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi put Celtic 2-0 up early on – Abada getting his second goal of the season. Furuhashi scored in what was his first start with a gorgeous first touch and finish. But it was Forrest that caught the eye, as the winger laid on a goal and an assist.

A neat finish to score Celtic’s third, the Scotland international also supplied a beautiful cross for Ryan Christie to score a diving header. Celtic fans applauded Forrest, following his injury nightmares in 2020-21. One said Forrest is “underrated”, while another jokingly suggested the “Ballon d’Or”.

In other Celtic news aside from Forrest, fans have also praised Abada.
