Celtic are reportedly interested in Leicester City’s Fousseni Diabate – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are pleased by the speculation.

The Daily Record reports that the 23-year-old expects to be on his way out of Premier League side Leicester City, as he’s struggling to force his way into the plans of their boss Brendan Rodgers.

The report explains that Celtic are “monitoring” the speed machine and Bhoys manager Neil Lennon wants to try bring in a wide player before the window closes.

With Diabate potentially heading for the exit at the King Power Stadium, it could be an intriguing move for the Scottish champions to try snap him up.

He’s a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline, but is most comfortable on the wing and he’s a danger to defences with his pace.

It’s not quite happened for him during his time at Leicester with just 19 first-team appearances for them and he now finds himself on the fringes.

But he could bolster competition in Lennon’s group if he makes a move to Scotland and he definitely has potential.

Celtic will be overloaded with fixtures as usual and will need a decent squad, especially as they qualified for the Europa League group stages on Wednesday night after beating AIK 6-1 on aggregate.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media have responded positively to links regarding Diabate and feel he could be an asset.

It’s unclear on if the dazzling wide player will leave Leicester on loan or a permanent basis, but the Scottish champions are named as a potential suitor.
