Celtic kept up their good run of form by defeating Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership last night. The result was their sixth win in a row and the Bhoys again kept a clean sheet.
They have now not conceded since Ryan Jack’s winner in the Old Firm derby on the 29th December.
It is perhaps not just a coincidence that this run of clean sheets has come with a change in goalkeeper.
Scott Bain has been in goal for Celtic in their last six games, relegating Craig Gordon to the bench. In fact, in 12 games for Celtic this season, Bain has conceded just one goal.
This is a fact not lost on Celtic fans, who have come to love the 27-year-old recently.
The defence needs to take a lot of credit. Bain has hardly been having to produce world-class saves on a weekly basis.
However, his presence has seemed to calm the Celtic defence somewhat. Perhaps it is his command of the area or ability with the ball at his feet, but Celtic look a more settled outfit with him between the sticks.
The majority of Celtic fans on Twitter certainly seem to be sold. Bain is Celtic’s new number one…
Been outstanding for Oli Burke, Timo Weah and Jeremy Toljan for Celtic but Scott Bain has kept 6 clean-sheets this year and he’s now a first choice keeper at the moment
