Celtic fans lay into Morgan as Shved remains on the bench

Some Celtic fans were pretty scathing about Lewis Morgan being brought on against Dunfermline on Saturday.

Morgan had been impressive in pre-season, but has not enjoyed the most promising start to the 2019/20 season, with many questioning his level.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but did not pull up any trees at the Stadium of Light. Despite that, Lennon has been keen to give him a chance at Parkhead.

Against Dunfermline Morgan was brought on as a 115th-minute substitute for Mikey Johnston, with Marian Shved again left on the bench.

The Ukraine international, many of whom are desperate to see in action after a goal-filled 2018/19 season with Karpaty Lviv, has made just one appearance so far this season to Morgan’s eight.

Celtic fans react

Many Hoops fans were livid with Lennon for electing to introduce Morgan over Shved, even though only five minutes of the game remained.

Most appear to be in agreement that Morgan is simply not Celtic standard:
