Odsonne Edouard made his debut for France’s Under-21s side on Thursday night – and some Celtic fans on Twitter hailed their striker for his international performance.

The centre-forward had previously represented his nation up to the Under-19 age group, but was moved up a level for the current international break.

France’s Under-21s side secured a comfortable 4-0 victory against Albania and the Celtic attacker played an important role when he entered the action from the bench.

Edouard scored the second and third goal of the contest, as his fine form in front of goal transferred over to the international stage.

The Frenchman netted from close-range with a predatory finish, while the other was an excellent curling effort that went in off the post.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media praised Edouard for his latest performance.

The striker scored in the Old Firm win over Rangers at the weekend and has now marked his first Under-21s international appearance with a win.

He’s already scored six times in 11 games across all competitions this season for Neil Lennon’s team and is clearly a major favourite at Parkhead.

The attacker has also weighed in with five assists too for the Bhoys and is enjoying a spectacular start to the campaign.
