Celtic fans hail Christopher Jullien after performance against Hearts

Celtic recorded a convincing win over Hearts in midweek to extend their lead at the top of the league table – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter raved about their defender Christopher Jullien for his performance.

The Bhoys managed to dismantle Hearts 5-0 at Parkhead on Wednesday night, while Old Firm rivals Rangers suffered a 2-1 away defeat at Kilmarnock.

It means that Neil Lennon’s side are 10 points clear in the Scottish Premiership standings having played a game more and are in pole position to defend their title.

Olivier Ntcham scored the only first-half goal for Celtic at home to Hearts, before they put on a clinical display in the second-half to wrap up three points.

Jullien powered in a header from a corner to double the lead, while teammates Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Jozo Simunovic also got on the scoresheet.

Jullien has now scored seven goals in 39 games across all competitions this season and is in a purple patch of form in front of goal right now in 2020.

The 26-year-old centre-back is proving a colossal offensive threat from set-pieces and attacks the ball in the air with so much aggression.

He’s not always the smoothest in possession in defence, but adds so much going forward for the Scottish giants and is an ever-present in the team.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media singled out Jullien following his latest display and one claimed he’s “worth every penny”.

They signed the Frenchman in the summer for around £7million (BBC) from Toulouse and he’s settled extremely quickly.
