Celtic fans don’t want to sign striker target Emmanuel Adebayor

Celtic are reportedly interested in free agent Emmanuel Adebayor – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have claimed they should avoid signing him this summer.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after leaving Turkish side Basaksehir by mutual consent and is reportedly attracting widespread interest.

The Sun reports that the Bhoys are joined by two Italian teams in monitoring his situation.

Meanwhile, it’s understood that the Premier League trio of West Ham, Sheffield United and Watford are also eyeing him.

Neil Lennon now has the permanent manager job at Celtic and it’s an important summer for the club to ensure they stay at the top of Scottish football next season.

They are yet to make any new signings in the window, but Adebayor is a fresh target being speculated about.

The centre-forward is a great target man that is strong in the air and he’s had a successful career, especially during his time in the English Premier League.

But he’s surely at the back end of his career now aged 35 and some Celtic fans have expressed their concern about that.

He would have run riot in the Scottish top-flight a few years ago when he was at his best, but it would be a gamble to bring him to Parkhead this summer.
