Celtic fans discuss reported interest in Sparta Prague winger Karlsson

Celtic are reportedly weighing up a January move to raid Sparta Prague for winger David Moberg Karlsson after he starred against the Scottish champions in the Europa League – and Hoops fans have responded on Twitter.

The Hoops suffered two successive 4-1 defeats in the Europa League to Sparta Prague and in both matches, three-time Sweden international Karlsson was at the centre of anything good Sparta did. He got an assist in both matches.

Indeed, Karlsson has been excellent this season. Formerly on the books at both Sunderland and Kilmarnock, the winger has not become crucial to Sparta – clocking up 55 appearances since joining in 2019.

In that time, he has scored 11 goals and created 14 more – a decent tally for a winger that just as solid as he is attacking. Czech outlet iSport claim that Celtic have been scouting Karlsson since the Europa League matches.

Now, with the January transfer window upon us, it is claimed that interested parties can nab Karlsson from Sparta for a bargain £1.5million. The Hoops, then, might look to bring the versatile midfielder to Glasgow this month.

Celtic supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reports that the club are scouting Karlsson and could bring him to Parkhead in the coming weeks. One fan said “in a heartbeat”, while others think he is a good replacement for Olivier Ntcham.
