Mikey Johnston scored a delicious free-kick in the Glasgow Cup final as Celtic’s second string earned a late 3-2 win over Old Firm rivals Rangers – and Celtic fans have discussed the elusive attacker.
Celtic took a 2-0 lead in the clash, after being beaten by Rangers last week in the Youth Cup final. Jack Aitchison opened the scoring, before Johnston notched Celtic’s second with a superb free-kick from 25 yards out.
Glenn Middleton scored a superb brace for the Gers including a left-footed drive that flew into the top corner from 30 yards, before Celtic defender Robbie Deas showed the skill of a striker to slam home a winner into the top corner.

Johnston, 20, started the campaign in the senior side under Brendan Rodgers. But he has slowly drifted out of the senior side and back into the Under-20 set-up, featuring here and there from the bench.
This season, the Scotland Under-21 international has played 20 times for the first team and scored three goals. But he is yet to hold down a regular place in the side – especially since Neil Lennon took over.
Celtic fans reacted to his display for the reserve side on Tuesday night, with many discussing what they would do with the Celtic academy product. Some want a loan, some want first-team football, some are unsure.
