Celtic fans discuss £4m-rated English striker who has already netted 20 goals this term

Sam Cosgrove has been in stunning form for Derek McInnes’ side this season as he continues to lead the Aberdeen attack into battle – and Celtic fans have considered whether their side should make a move for the English ace on Twitter.

The Scottish Sun have claimed the 23-year-old is worth a whopping £4million, with English clubs keen. Indeed, another report from the same outlet claimed Leeds United, Stoke City, Derby County and Middlesbrough are all interested.

Cosgrove is both physical and quick, and is more than willing to run the channels, as well as getting his head on the end of a cross. But with the ball at his feet, he is more than adept and his link-up play is strong.

No surprises then, that he has been linked with Championship sides. This season, he has been in stunning form – netting 20 times in 26 league and cup outings. He also has a contract at Pittodrie until the summer of 2022.

Celtic, meanwhile, are likely to be in the market for a new striker. Neil Lennon has admitted Celtic are in talks with Slovan Bratislava over a move for Andraz Sporar – who has also scored 20 goals this season for the Slovakian outlet.

But Celtic fans have considered a move for Cosgrove on Twitter after watching the powerful striker score against Lennon’s men on Saturday – before being sent off for a straight red card. Many Hoops fans would take him at Parkhead.
