Giorgos Giakoumakis finally made his Celtic debut on Thursday night during the 4-0 defeat to Leverkusen – and Celtic fans have reacted.
The Bhoys were heavily beaten by Jeremie Frimpong’s Leverkusen, though the scoreline was harsh on Celtic. They could have scored four themselves.
But eventually, Celtic suffered a second straight Europa League group stage defeat – after losing to Spanish side Real Betis in the first matchday.
However, there were positives. Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor returned – both looking sharp, though Kyogo did miss some golden chances.
Another positive was Greece international Giakoumakis making his Celtic debut. Giakoumakis came on after 74 minutes against the German side.
The striker suffered a calf injury in the warm-up ahead of a League Cup clash against Raith. Eventually, he made his debut on Thursday night.

What are the first impressions of Giakoumakis from Celtic fans?
Celtic desperately need a striker. Albian Ajeti’s lack of work rate means he is not suited to Ange Postecoglou’s tactics, with the gaffer liking a high press.
Since selling Odsonne Edouard and with Kyogo on the sidelines, Celtic have lacked a striker that suits the way Postecoglou wants to play.
Now, Giakoumakis has returned to fitness, could finally help Celtic get out of the poor form they find themselves in. Celtic face Aberdeen on Sunday.
Following his 20-minute cameo, Celtic fans have discusses the display of Giakoumakis on Twitter – and given their first impressions.
