Celtic failed to beat St. Mirren in Paisley on Wednesday night as they lose more ground on Old Firm rivals Rangers in the chase for the Premiership title. Celtic fans were not happy with Ange Postecoglou, overlooking Ewan Henderson.
Coming into the game, Celtic’s morale would have been at it’s peak – after a League Cup final win over Hibernian. But the Hoops were without numerous key players, as they travelled to Paisley to take on Jim Goodwin’s side.
Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart, David Turnbull, Jota, Giorgos Giakouamkos, James Forrest and plenty more were all forced to watch from the sidelines. Ultimately, Celtic did not have enough game-changing options.
It proved to be a frustrating night for Celtic fans and Ange Postecoglou. Liel Abada started up top, with Owen Moffat and Mikey Johnston either side of him. But ultimately, the inexperienced front three could not find a breakthrough.

What have Celtic fans said about Postecoglou overlooking Henderson?
While Celtic enjoyed an enormous 84% possession, they only managed eight shots on Dean Lyness’ goal. However, while Postecoglou might feel hard done by at Celtic’s lack of options – some have criticised him.
Henderson, the younger brother of Liam – who is currently on the books at Serie A side Empoli – was handed his first outing of the season against Real Betis, and he scored. It was only his 11th senior outing of his career for Celtic.
But many believe he is deserving of more minutes. However, with Celtic in need of a goal – Postecoglou brought on two defenders in Greg Taylor and Josip Juranovic. Many question why he did not use Montgomery.
