Celtic fans call on Neil Lennon to give David Turnbull his chance in starting XI

Celtic are clinging on to their chances of progressing in the Europa League this season after a dismal home defeat to Czech side Sparta Prague.

A hat-trick from Lukas Julis and a last-minute goal from Ladislav Krejci confirmed the win for the visiting side, with Celtic’s eventual consolation goal coming from substitute Leigh Griffiths.

It was a poor display from Neil Lennon’s side, which has seen more pressure piled on the Celtic manager as they continue to show indifferent form this season, in particular in the big games.

For some Celtic fans, however, the manager is simply not giving a chance to some of the right players.

For example, throughout the game last night, plenty of Celtic fans took to Twitter to declare their belief that summer signing David Turnbull should be getting his chance in the starting XI.

Signed from Motherwell in a reported (BBC) £3.25 million deal one year after a similar deal collapsed due to a failed medical, the 21-year-old has not yet been given many chances to showcase his talents for the club. In particular, he has not been given a chance in Europe, where he is still waiting to make his bow for Celtic.

Plenty of fans believe that now is the time for this forgotten man to be given his chance from the start as Celtic continue to falter in the big games.
