Celtic missed the chance to go ten points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 0-0 draw against Aberdeen on Saturday.
Neil Lennon has been parachuted in after Brendan Rodgers’ sudden departure and charged with keeping the club’s pursuit of silverware on course – which is easier said than done.
Lennon has to hit the ground running and it did not quite happen against a Dons side enjoying another good season.
Speaking about the draw, Lennon said to the club’s official Twitter account: “We’ve had three really difficult games to negotiate in the last 10 days and we’ve come out of it unscathed. We’ll get them together again, get a couple of days’ rest and then move forward.”

But some supporters were not buying it. They viewed it as a thinly veiled excuse, which wouldn’t wash after a week without a game.
Some were reminded of the excuses former boss Rodgers used to use to explain away issues and given his current popularity level around Parkhead, any comparison with the Leicester boss isn’t a good thing for Lennon right now.
We’ve put together some of the reaction to Lennon’s quotes as he has hit the first roadblock in his second term back at Celtic…
