Celtic fans are begging Conor McGregor to invest in club following post on Twitter

Celtic fans are eager for Conor McGregor to follow through with his conversations with Dermot Desmond and acquire shares in the Scottish club.

The UFC legend revealed on Twitter that he has held discussions with the Irish billionaire to buy Celtic shares off Desmond, who is currently the largest shareholder in the club, with McGregor stating that he is open to investing in a football club, listing Celtic as well as Manchester United in two teams he is supporters of.

McGregor has not hid the fact that he is a supporter of the Scottish giants over the years, with the MMA superstar regularly pictured in training wearing a Celtic shirt as well as being closely connected with former defender Kieran Tierney, and for supporters on social media, they were eager for the 32-year-old Dublin-born fighter to follow through on his Twitter post and buy some shares in the club.

With an estimated net worth of £181m according to Belfast Live, McGregor has the finances to become a major shareholder in Celtic, with the club claimed to be valued at around £125m as reported by the Herald.
