Callum McGregor racked up more minutes of competitive football in the 2018/19 season than anyone else in the world – and some Celtic fans on Twitter are fuming with the statistic.
The midfielder played in 59 games across all competitions for the Bhoys and also a further 10 international games for Scotland.
He took part in 5,894 minutes of football throughout the whole of the last campaign and has already played twice in the 2019/20 season.
Neil Lennon’s team have commenced their season with a two-legged Champions League qualifying tie against FK Sarajevo, where the Scotland international played every minute of the two victories.
Celtic posted on their official Twitter the information on McGregor, which resulted in some angry comments from some supporters on social media.

Some Celtic fans are concerned that they are burning McGregor out with too many minutes and he needs rest at times.
The 26-year-old is such an essential player at Parkhead in the centre of the park, where he controls the tempo of play and also joins in with attacks.
He’s already weighed in with one goal this season in the opening two matches and has a rocket left foot.
It wouldn’t hurt to give him some time to rest during domestic cup competitions, but it will take teammates in the squad to help step up whenever he’s absent.
