Celtic are looking into the possibility of signing Girona striker Cristhian Stuani during the transfer window, according to Mexican website Radio Formula.
Stuani is rated at £6.17 million and is best known to British football fans for a spell under Aitor Karanka at Middlesbrough. During two years at the Riverside Stadium, he netted 16 goals.
The 48-cap Uruguay international is a proven goalscorer and Celtic will probably face stern competition for his signature. The report claims that Nottingham Forest and Barcelona are two other clubs eyeing up his services.

Girona suffered the disappointment of relegation from La Liga this season but Stuani still managed to score 20 goals in all competitions.
Stuani is under contract with the Spanish outfit until 2022 but will almost certainly depart following the club’s relegation.
TBR Verdict
Stuani would represent a top class signing for Celtic this summer.
The Hoops are desperate to improve on recent European campaigns and his arrival would almost certainly help those chances.
Paying just over £6 million doesn’t look like bad business for a player who has just finished the 2018/19 campaign with 19 goals in La Liga.

If Barcelona are to show their desire to sign him, then Celtic’s efforts will probably be in vain. The Catalan giants would have massive pulling power over any other potential suitors and at 32 he won’t get such an opportunity again.
If they aren’t keen, however, the Hoops should ensure they do everything they can to get such a marquee signing over the line this summer.
