This week has seen plenty of rumours circulating regarding Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman scored four goals during the international break with the France under-21s’ It takes his tally for the season to 10 goals in 13 games for club and country.

That sort of form is always going to be noticed. Now, according to The Guardian, French outfit Lyon are keeping tabs on the player as a potential future transfer target.

It is a familiar tale for Celtic fans. Last summer, the club lost Moussa Dembele to Lyon in a deal reported by the BBC to be worth £19.7 million.

That came amid something of a storm at Celtic between Dembele and former manager Brendan Rodgers. It also came off the back of an inconsistent second season at Parkhead.

In hindsight, looking at Dembele’s form at Lyon, Celtic were probably short-changed when it came to selling Dembele.

The club should have got at least £25 million for the Frenchman who is now attracting interest from across Europe.

If Edouard keeps up his current form, then Celtic must make sure they receive at least the same £19.7 million that Lyon paid for Dembele.

However, based on his performances so far this season Celtic could easily ask for much more than that.
