Celtic complete signing of Christopher Jullien from Toulouse
Scottish Champions Celtic have confirmed on their official website the signing of Christopher Jullien on a four-year deal.
The central defender arrives from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse where he made over 100 appearances and bagged himself eight goals.
Jullien has cost Celtic £7 million (Daily Record) and he ends a three-year association with the French club.
The 26-year-old is a highly-rated central defender and he will bolster a problematic area for boss Neil Lennon.
Filip Benkovic has returned to Leicester City; whilst Dedryck Boyata has joined Hertha Berlin on a free transfer.
Jullien will now battle with Jozo Simunovic and Kristoffer Ajer to occupy a place in Lennon’s team next season.
This looks like being the stellar signing that Celtic fans have been desperately craving.
The Hoops have shown a real statement of intent with this addition and they might have found a long-term partner for Ajer.
Jullien possesses tremendous aerial prowess, can play out from the back and offers the Celtic back line an injection of pace.
Ajer is a star of the future and Jullien could be just the partner he needs to really thrive in the Celtic team.
For a while it is has been thought that the Norwegian just needs the player alongside him and this could be amazing for his Hoops career.
The dominant side in Scottish football will go in search of a quadruple treble next season and this signing enhances their chances.
