‘Legacy in tatters’: Celtic fans react to Chris Sutton’s astonishing Brendan Rodgers rant

Brendan Rodgers is set to join Leicester City after Celtic gave permission for him to discuss their managerial vacancy, according to BBC Sport.

Rodgers is in his third season in charge of the Hoops and was on course to claim an unprecedented triple treble.

Now it seems that he is set to make the switch back to the Premier League as Claude Puel’s successor.

It is thought, according to the report, that Rodgers will take charge immediately and no plans will be in place for him to see the season out at Celtic Park.

Sutton not amused

Chris Sutton netted 63 goals for the club in six years and he has taken to Twitter to vent his frustration, saying:

Back in April, Rodgers told The Times that he was living the dream managing the Hoops and that he wanted to create a legacy a the club.

Having stayed loyal to the Scottish giants, Sutton resonates as a supporter of the club and perhaps he has a point.

The Premier League is clearly better than the Scottish Premiership.

It would appear that Rodgers’ ultimate desire was to return as soon as possible.

Celtic fans appear to back Sutton on this one though and have taken to Twitter to give him their seal of approval.
