Celtic boss Neil Lennon gives positive injury update on Moritz Bauer and Christopher Jullien
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has put fans’ minds to ease when giving an injury update. As reported by The Daily Record, Lennon does not believe Moritz Bauer and Christopher Jullien have suffered long-term injuries.
Bauer and Jullien both started in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon. But in the final stages of the match, the Bhoys pair were forced off through injury.
On 79 minutes, Bauer was taken off with Hatem Abd Elhamed taking over the right-back duties. Then, five minutes later, Jullien was taken off and Tom Rogic was brought on for the final six minutes.

There are concerns over the fitness of both players, especially with Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton still out. Celtic will not want any more injuries to their defensive ranks and Lennon is not too wirred by these latest blows.
After the game, Lennon told a press conference (via The Daily Record): “Moritz’s injury was trauma. He got a bang and twisted his ankle. Christopher Jullien felt it a little bit on his hamstring but we think he’ll be fine.”
TBR’s view
Bauer produced an impressive performance on his full debut for Celtic and Lennon needs him fit. With a heavy schedule of fixtures, it is important to have two full-backs fit and competing for the starting spot. With Bauer and Elhamed, he has two good options.
Jullien, meanwhile, is showing early signs of becoming a fan favourite. He is passionate, dominant in the air and strong in the tackle. With Bitton and Simunovic still out, Lennon needs Jullien to continue at the back with Kristoffer Ajer.
