Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media and he’s got a bone to pick with some people who keep criticising one of his players.

What’s the story?

Kyogo Furuhashi has been a revelation since arriving in Scotland from Vissel Kobe. He has scored 14 goals and claimed five assists during his short time at Parkhead.

After a miserable campaign last term, Postecoglou was always going to need a stellar signing and Kyogo has provided that.

However, he has come under fire for his acts of gamesmanship.

Following a game with Hearts recently, the Japanese star was accused of going down too easily following a clash with John Souttar.

It certainly hasn’t gone under the radar across Glasgow; with plenty of ex-Rangers stars jumping on the Celtic star.

Barry Ferguson has criticised the recent signing most recently and Postecoglou isn’t best pleased.

He told the Glasgow Times: “Who are these brave people, these warriors, accusing people?

“Kyogo’s the size of a jockey and he’s playing against guys who are a foot taller than him.

“He’s been great for our football club and for Scottish football.”

Kyogo can lead Celtic and Postecoglou to glory

It has to be said that Celtic look to have hit the jackpot when it comes to the 12-cap player.

The centre forward has already caught the eye with his number of goals and there is plenty more to come from the 26-year-old.

Watching Rangers lift the Scottish Premiership title last year will have stung; especially as it scuppered the chance to win a tenth in succession.

As a result, the Hoops will have a real desire to win the league this season and regain their place at the summit of Scottish football.

With Kyogo in this kind of form, few would bet against them doing just that.
