Celtic have agreed a fee with Scottish Premiership rivals Motherwell for their midfielder David Turnbull.
Motherwell have confirmed (official Twitter) that they have reached the agreement to sell the 19-year-old to the reigning champions and that it will be a club record for them in terms of offloading a player.
According to Sky Sports, a £3million fee has been agreed between clubs for the Scotsman with £250,000 in potential add-ons and personal terms will now be discussed.
The central midfielder has jut enjoyed a breakout season for Motherwell, scoring 16 goals and supplying seven assists in return for them across all competitions.
He’s a teenage talent with immense potential and a move to the Scottish giants should help him reach the next step.
Celtic will be completing great business if the swoop for Motherwell’s young star gets over the line and it looks like personal terms are the only obstacle left.
He proved his quality in the recent season with a string of mature displays in the centre of the park, where he’s firm in the tackle and also provides a goal threat going forward.
It may be too big a step to Celtic going into next season and he may have to be eased into the group, but there is definitely real talent and they risk missing out on him if he’s not signed this summer.
