Arsenal fans were treated to a sublime performance from new loan signing Dani Ceballos on Saturday.
The Spaniard was handed his first start by Unai Emery against Burnley, and the midfielder dazzled at the Emirates Stadium against the Clarets during the 2-1 win.
His man-of-the-match-display saw him provide assists for both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, and his brilliant show of technical ability and passing earned him a standing ovation when he was substituted off.
Pundits and fans have raved about the Real Madrid ace, with many drawing comparisons to former Gunners Santi Cazorla and Cesc Fabregas.
It’s a great start from the 23-year-old, but it will be important for him to maintain his form at the club for longer than Lucas Torreira did.
Like Ceballos, Torreira made a brilliant start for Arsenal last term following his transfer from Sampdoria.
The Uruguay international – who earns £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) really impressed with his tenacity and his best moment probably came when he scored in the 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in December.
He then scored against Huddersfield Town two games later, but after that the 23-year-old began to fade for the north Londoners.
Torreira’s dip in form resulted in him being rotated with Matteo Guendouzi on occasion, and his impact in the second half of the season was nowhere near the same level as the first.
Ceballos has made a very exciting start, and fans will hope to see him producing quality performances all the way through the campaign.
