The Real Madrid man joins on a season-long loan, having been deemed surplus to requirements by Zinedine Zidane back at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal have got their man, after previously linked Tottenham Hotspur cooled their interested in the playmaker.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ceballos name-checked the key players in the successful loan move.

He said: “Well, as you know there are Spanish players here like Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin. I get on really well with Hector away from football, on a personal level.

“I told him I was thinking of joining and he told me not to think twice because this is a great city and a great club and that I was going to have a great time. I can’t wait to see him and say thanks for his help in getting me here.”

Ceballos also believes fellow Spaniard Unai Emery will be able to help him adapt.

It is hardly surprising to learn that Bellerin played a key role in Ceballos’ move to north London.

£110,000-a-week star Bellerin (Spotrac) has adapted superbly to life in the capital himself after moving to the club when he was just 16.

Going forwards he can be a really good influence on the midfielder, and could well help him get to grips with the English language.

And if Ceballos proves a success at the Emirates, then fans will know where to direct some of their thanks.
