Aston Villa recorded a huge victory over Manchester City at Villa Park in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Clinton Morrison lauded Villans captain John McGinn during the game, saying he was causing the opposition “a lot of problems” right from the start.

Villa ran out 1-0 winners over the reigning Premier League champions, with Leon Bailey striking the winner in the 74th minute of the match.

Bailey had a go with an effort on the edge of the City box, which took a deflection off Ruben Dias and went past Ederson in the visitors’ net.

McGinn also delivered an amazing performance, creating plenty of chances, winning challenges and setting up his teammates further up the pitch.

The 29-year-old registered four key passes, won a staggering 13 duels and completed 100 percent of his dribbles. He was pretty much flawless defensively and offensively.

Morrison, speaking after McGinn had a go from range midway through the first half, liked what he saw from the £120,000-a-week star.

“Villa look good. McGinn is causing City a lot of problems,” he said on Soccer Special, via the Sky Sports website.

This wasn’t an early flash in the pan either. McGinn went on to boss the game against the treble champions en route to a huge result for Unai Emery’s side.

Villa have gone up to third in the Premier League table, leapfrogging City into the position. The Villans now have 32 points from 15 games, two more points than City.

In addition, Villa have clocked up a staggering 14 home wins in a row. Things are going so well for the claret-and-blue outfit, and long may it continue.
