The January transfer window is open, but a lot of the chat this month has already been about what will happen this summer.

Indeed, as many will know, most of the main transfer movement happens in the summer as clubs undertake end-of-season audits and key targets become available.

Tottenham Hotspur have been the busiest team in the Premier League this month, but they already seem to have some summer plans in place.

Indeed, speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Sami Mokbel has been discussing Tottenham’s summer transfer plans, and he says that he absolutely expects Tottenham to sign a new striker this summer.

Spurs will sign a new striker

Mokbel shared what he knows about Spurs’ transfer plans and a potential striking addition at the end of the season.

“I think they will look for a centre-forward in the summer, that is absolutely cast iron, that is what they will look for, whether that means Richarlison will look to leave, I don’t know, he’s really enjoying it at the moment,” Mokbel said.

“I’d be surprised even if they did sign a striker, which I expect them to do, I’d be surprised if Richarlison would look to move.”

Who will it be?

Tottenham will be in the market for a new forward in the summer, and we’re interested to see who they ultimately go for.

The likes of Santiago Gimenez and Ivan Toney have been linked as of late, and either of those two would make for very exciting signings for the north London club.

Harry Kane hasn’t been missed all that much this season, but it has to be said that Tottenham would be a better side for having a quality number nine leading their line.

This situation is certainly one to keep an eye on as we approach the summer transfer window and Tottenham finalise their shortlist of striking targets.
