Jamie Carragher shares what Richarlison said to him during warm-up before Tottenham vs Man City
Carragher and the Spurs striker have had a chequered relationship in the past, to say the least. The pundit annoyed the Brazilian by criticising him for play-acting while he was at Everton last season, as reported by Football London.
Richarlison then hit out at Carragher after he helped the Toffees stay in the Premier League. And while Carragher defended him over the response, there was another fall-out earlier this season.
Carragher and Richarlison meet before Tottenham clash
The former Liverpool man was clearly annoyed with Richarlison’s showboating in the win at Nottingham Forest. And Richarlison directed a message at Carragher after making the Brazil squad for the World Cup.
Richarlison is certainly a fiery character. And that side of him came out again at the weekend as he got into the face of Aaron Ramsdale at the end of the North London derby.
The Spurs star attracted criticism from some for his actions. So you would be forgiven for assuming that things may get heated when he met up with Carragher while Tottenham were warming up before facing Manchester City.
Unsurprisingly, the pundit was asked what was said between the two. And after joking that he received an apology, he shared what was actually discussed.
“We’re all mates. He apologised so I accepted it,” he told Sky Sports.
“I said ‘are you going to be a good boy today, any fighting?’ He said ‘no’, he’s just going to play football!”
Richarlison is never going to be someone who unites the football world. He is someone rival fans love to hate. And he would probably have it no other way.
In fact, you can guarantee that something will happen which leads to Richarlison and Carragher falling out again in the future, even after their nice moment on Thursday.
