Carlos Baleba to Manchester United is the latest rumour coming out of Old Trafford – and arguably the most exciting one yet for Red Devils fans.
That said, TBR Football revealed that Baleba to Manchester United is unlikely, with a fee of £100m+ needed for Brighton to even consider a sale.
And that’s for good reason. Baleba is the shining light in Brighton’s midfield – and one of the Premier League’s best young midfielders.

His quality is recognised by his teammates, including former Manchester United academy graduate, Danny Welbeck.
Danny Welbeck on Carlos Baleba
Brighton striker Danny Welbeck spoke to BBC Radio Sussex about some of his team-mates in 2024 after a victory over Manchester City, including Baleba, whom he called “unstoppable”.
Welbeck said: “He can be unstoppable. If he keeps up with that desire and passion, he can go right to the top. He’s got all of the attributes to be a world-beater.”
Baleba was a monster in that fixture against the Premier League champions, dominating their midfield and helping Brighton to a 2-1 lead.
It really is no surprise that Manchester United are keen, particularly when club legends are telling you to go out and sign them.
Rio Ferdinand urged Man Utd to sign Baleba
Rio Ferdinand told United to sign Baleba just last week whilst on the US Tour with club media.
Ferdinand said: “I’m being greedy, and [if] we are able to shift the other players that are surplus to requirements, I’d be going for Baleba in midfield.
“[He] beats the press on a regular basis. [He’s] confident on the ball. [He] can move, is mobile. He is a Ruben Amorim midfielder.”
Now, Rio’s advice has been taken on board, but whether further action will be taken really does remain to be seen.
