It might be the last thing on every Everton fans minds at present, but whenever this season does end the Toffees will undoubtedly have to consider potential transfer activity.

Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival has clearly seen an upturn in the club’s form but Everton are still some way off achieving their goals of making it into the Champions League picture.

Which is reportedly informing the Italian’s aims for the transfer window, whenever that comes.

According to the Daily Mail, Ancelotti is ‘determined’ to bring ‘Champions League quality’ players to Goodison Park starting with Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.

It would certainly seem to fit the most recent transfer plans that have been showcased by Everton director of football Marcel Brands.

Everton have snapped up the likes of Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne, and Djibril Sidibe under the Dutchman’s guidance – all players with Champions League experience.

Everton’s game plan at present appears to be signing players out of favour at Champions League level clubs, or those with Champions League potential and putting them straight into the first-team picture at Goodison Park.

Everton fans will hope it pays dividends going forward.
